Maukamauka.com - The Asia Cup is a men's One Day International & Twenty20 International cricket tournament. It was established in 1983 when the Asian Cricket Council was founded as a measure to promote goodwill between Asian countries. It was originally scheduled to be held every two years.

The very First Asia Cup the 1984 Asia Cup (also known as the Rothmans Asia Cup) was held in Sharjah, UAE, which was the location of the newly formed Asian Cricket Council. The new tournament was held between April 6–13, in 1984 and three teams took part: India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The 1984 Asia Cup was a round-robin tournament where each team played the other once. India won both its matches, winning the inaugural Cup. Sri Lanka came in second while Pakistan lost both its matches.

India and Sri Lanka are the most successful teams in the ODI format of the tournament having won the cup five times each. Pakistan has also won the ODI tournament two times. India is the most successful team in the T20I format having won the inaugural version in 2016. India is the most successful team in the tournament having won it 6 times (5 times in ODI format and once in the T20 format).

The Asia World Cup 2018 (also known as Unimoni Asia Cup) will be a One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates in September 2018.It will be the 14th edition of the Asia Cup and the third time the tournament will be played in the United Arab Emirates, after the 1984 and 1995 tournaments. India is the defending champions. Originally, the tournament was scheduled to be played in India. It was moved to the United Arab Emirates, following ongoing political tensions between India and Pakistan

Format: The schedule and format of the tournament was announced on 24 July 2018, with the six teams split into two groups of three. The top two teams from each of the groups will then progress to the Super Four section of the tournament. From there, the top two teams of the Super Four section will then play each other in the final. Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in the opening game of the tournament at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

There are total 6 Six Teams i.e. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and an Asia cup Qualifier (These six teams are Hong Kong, Malaysia, Nepal, Oman, Singapore, and UAE.)The matches start from 15 September 2018 to 28 September 2018.The final of this World CUP will be on 28 September 2018.
