A Cisco Video Network Specialist operates video networks, sets up new users, and installs video endpoints. The individual installs, operates, and supports networked video solutions and deploys and enhances the elements and advantages of the Cisco video environments.

Specialists have to configure voice device, support video, and telephony applications, and fix issues related to them. They will administer all the network’s operations and identify and troubleshoot networking problems of a very technical nature, prepare new processes, coordinate hardware installations and network software, and suggest ways of boosting the network infrastructure.

Specialists also process and compress digital audio and video for DVDs and digital distribution platforms.

Technicians should be able to communicate technical information lucidly to non-technical team members. They will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
