A Bronx Tale is undoubtedly is just a musical version of Chazz Palminteri’s 1989 play with the same name, a one-man show where he played about 18 characters.Discounted a Bronx Tale Tickets are on sale and you can buy them now at Tickets4musical. His talent was so appreciated that it later was inspired to be a film in 1995 in the direction of Robert DeNiro. The story has every right to be moved with, it’s a fabulous description of coming of age of a boy who grows up in the troubled streets of The Bronx, under the shadow of a local gang man kingpin Sonny, played by Joe Barbara in the musical with a sense of realism and authenticity that rise the character’s charm.

Still, the fact remains the same, the way Palminteri's book attracts your attention as much as intriguing Sergio Trujillo's broad-shouldered, athletic choreography does, the musical lacks to do so. The scores by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater come a bit too close to the original story to be bland and unfortunately can’t make the same level of success as the show did. To be honest Menken's music is lacking in originality, while Slater's lyrics are uncoordinated and edifying.

Palminteri’s somewhat autobiographical work pictures a story of a boy coming of age with themes like wasted talent, love versus fear which easily captures the audience’s hearts and resounds in each present person’s soul. Even those who never actually considered themselves as a musical theater fan.Buy Cheap a Bronx Tale Tickets now at Tickets4musical and see the talent in the show through your own eyes. A Bronx Tale, however, delivers plenty of action and gunshots that seems almost as watching a move in cinema. The show is of about 2 hours in total with a 15-minute interval included. The way characters express themselves by bursting into songs full of their sentiments or occasionally showing their talents through their footwork to further enhance the true intentions of their acts is all the more appealing to the audience and help them identify each character thoroughly.

What makes the show fail is Menken and Slater score, it lacks to name any of the theatrical standards. There isn’t even a single tone that you will remember after you leave the theater after the show. The musical continues the display till 17th February in Andrew Jackson Hall at Nashville's Tennessee Performing Arts Center. However, the "Belmont Avenue," the opening song is one that is written skillfully enough to take the audience to the time and space of the musical and is a promising work displayed by the quartet of Christopher Messina, Joshua Michael Burrage, Giovanni DiGabriele and Alex Dorf. The song is a powerful source of nostalgia of the period, but the following numbers fall short of it, failing to bring any originality to the songs and you feel like you are listening to some of the tried and true tunes of the era that you have grown weary listening to.

The Robert DeNiro, who directed the original film and Jerry Zaks, who directed the one-man show on Broadway in 2007 features a cast from 11 of the Broadway productions. Despite the lacking lyrics and scores the musical is a success nonetheless and the credit goes to Beowulf Boritt for the astonishing scenic designs, Howell Binkley for the stunning lighting design and William Ivey Long for the just right costumes and concluding with an original doo-wop score by Messrs. Menken and Slater on the other hand has only made the show appealing by fleshing out the sights, sounds and characters that had made the Palminteri's story so fascinating and responsive.
