Why is Cold Chain in logistics the only solution for transportation?Posted by Crystal Group on February 22nd, 2019 A cold chain can be defined as the confined space which is temperature controlled. It is basically nothing but a chamber that is easily transferable from one place to the other. This system of transportation is generally used in the relocation of the fresh agricultural produce and other things that need to be preserved for a long time in a confined space. These types of goods when transferred from one place to the other are also referred to as cool cargo. These type of goods are basically sent for their destination or to the end point for consumption or use. During their transportation, these goods also tend to perish in thin air, so they are transferred from the source directly to the destination. The products that use cold chainsolutions are generally not heated stable, in other words these sort of products require constant confinement to keep them fresh and healthy. Cold Chain is also considered to be a part of science and technology as well. These systems of transportation require a series of steps to be performed, starting from the manufacturer, storing and all the way to monitoring temperature sensitive products. What are its uses? Some of its uses are listed below for reference:-
How to maintain cold chain systems? Any quality management system will be able to take care of all the steps that require cold chain systems. Each and every step should be analysed, measured and controlled. The step by step process needs to be properly executed in every possible way. On completion of the first step, the execution of the first step should be looked into. Demonstration of the process needs to be perfectly implemented to ensure best results throughout the process. Certain things are to be maintained while carrying out the process of the cold chain. Things such as thermocouple probes and temperature data loggers are used to measure temperatures of the products to determine their response to the test conditions. Considering all things falling in place, one must always monitor the process and see that the demonstration of the process is in compliance and in a state of control. To track information across the supply chain, a hub must be set up or an internal documentation system. Like it? Share it!More by this author |
