National Science DayPosted by samacharjagat on February 28th, 2019 National News :Professor Chandrasekhar Venkata Raman, the great physicist of Calcutta, was born on 7 November 1888 in Madras Presidency (Tamil Nadu). After getting education he engaged in government jobs but in 1917 he resigned from the government job and after that he started working as a professor in the University of Calcutta. With this, he continued his research work in the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) in Calcutta. CV in the field of science The contribution Raman contributed can not be forgotten. He conducted a thorough study on light scattering and reached the point that when light passes through a transparent material, then there is a change in the wavelength of light during that time. Raman, along with other scientists, along with S Krishnan, discovered Raman effect on 28th February, 1928, this is why it is called Raman effect or Raman effect. Like it?
