Banarasi saree is a significant part of rich traditional culture of India, as this saree has been a must have since the time of Mughal. Even today, this saree finds its place in every woman's wardrobe, who effortlessly grace this saree while marking their presence for any grand or festive occasions. Hand woven typical Banarasi saree in silk with golden thread takes about 15 days to a month to to complete a single saree.      

Earlier the Banarasi saree was the prized possession or rich and affluent class, as the saree was curated with best quality pure silk and has embellishment of gold or silver zari look. This saree was out-of-reach of normal families and was exclusively meant for the royal families. However, with the huge demand and craze for this saree, today it is available in a wide and affordable range with trendy designs to cater the requirement of one and all. The saree is embellished with rich embroidery, intricate designs and engravings. The saree include designs from Mughal period such as floral intertwining, motifs of leaves on the body as well as border. Some of the famous brocades woven on Banarasi sarees are Kinkhab, potthan, betta and amru. Due to all these embellishments, Banarasi saree is really rich and gorgeous making the women look regal and stunning.
