5. Health insurance

And in Germany, it is compulsory to have health insurance whether you are a student or self-employed. There are two kinds of health insurance and that is, public statutory health insurance and private health insurance.

If any person whose gross income is 59.400€ per year needs to be insured under public statutory health insurance and this type of health insurance is suggested for the students.

And, if your income is greater than 59.400€ per year or you are a freelancer, self-employed, or having a salary less than450€ a month, then you have to insure under private health insurance. It is more expensive than public ones.
