I'm Malaysia work permits are usually issued for periods between 6 months and 5 years.

As a foreigner working in Malaysia, there are a number of procedures and rules that must be followed to obtain a work permit and a license. If a company does not meet the requirements, it will have an impact on resources and ultimately affect business operations.

There are three simple processes a company must follow to apply for work permits:

Before applying for a work permit, foreigners must receive a letter with a job offer in the country from a company that finances them. The requirements are different for each category of work permits. However, applicants must hold a valid passport for at least 18 months.

The Professional Visit Pass- is issued to foreigners who temporarily provide services to a Malaysia company setting up on behalf of a foreign company, usually up to 12 months. In the PVP, foreigners still work in their companies in their country. The MID application must be submitted by the Malaysian company before entering Malaysia.

Recruitment Pass-This step is issued to employees with specific skills, usually for technical or maneuvering. The minimum period is usually 2 years.
