Today Membrane keypad is the most commonly used in various units. Membrane keypads offer unlimited freedom of design. Thus the designer of a device can freely determine the numbers of keys, the position of the key and the shape of the keys.

Refine your membrane keyboards:

Numerous additional features ensure maximum adaptability. From UV protection to antibacterial coating, membrane keyboards can be used in Flexible printed circuit and also it can be designed according to your wishes.

All from one hand:

As Touch screen technology switching elements, membrane keyboards offer very thin metal domes. On the other hand, the circuit is made by the contact of the film surface with the lower switching foil. In most cases, membrane keypads are simply and easily integrated into systems by gluing. Interesting is the versatile additional functions and features that can be combined with membrane keypads.

Among others, liquid-repellent coatings are available, lighting options such as the homogeneous illumination of membrane keyboards, double contact function or capacitive sensor elements.

Keypad:

A membrane keyboard is a flexible keyboard that consists of several slides. Compared to conventional keyboards, membrane keyboards have the advantages of being malleable, dustproof, splash-proof and resistant to certain chemicals. They can be used in dusty environments, factory and production halls, home and medical equipment, industrial controls, and remote controls. They are marked with their degree of protection (IP) and can be used accordingly. Many medical device manufacturers have also started using Membrane keypads.

Structure:

The structure of membrane keypads consists of several polyester films. The bottom film is the base film on which the metal domes for the buttons are located. Above it is the printed circuit foil, the printed conductors of which are routed via a printed conductor connection foil to the outside to the connector. Above the conductor, the foil is a spacer foil, above it the holding foil with the contact points, over which a further spacer foil and the decor foil are located. The latter is a closed foil printed with the keyboard layouts. The conductors can be in silver, the contacts tinned.

Membrane keyboards are malleable and can have imprints as operating aids. The electrical properties are comparable to those of conventional keyboards. For example, the insulation resistance is 100 megohms and higher, the internal resistance is below 100 ohms, and the contact resistance is in the range of several 100 milli-ohms. They can be mechanically loaded and used in a temperature range up to 80 degrees and more. When a button is pressed, the circuit closes and a voltage is transmitted via the track connection.
