Question One

The local agency will be conducting the initial workshop for the single moms to assist them in how they are going to balance between they are going to work and their responsibilities at home with their children. The workshop for the single moms is going to design in a way that teaches them on how to deal with the various challenges. These challenges relate to the balancing of their responsibilities as well as joys in their multiple roles (Balkissoon, 2013). The strategies as well as the skills that the workshop is going to educate the mothers in including the organizing and planning their time well, effective communication, setting their limits as well as effective delegation. Through the above competencies, the single mothers are going to be able to manage efficiently their homes thus achieve a fulfilling, satisfying as well as a balanced life both professionally and individually. Irrespective of their cultural limitation and issues, the single mothers are in a position to effectively manage their children and work and be successful in both.

Considering that these mothers live in cultural confines that have a high rate of single motherhood, forming a support scheme is going to be of huge relevance and assistance to them. Educating the mothers on the various avenues they can seek for help on how they can manage their situations is very significant as they will receive real life experiences of others in the same state. Additionally the workshop will involve teaching the mothers on how to ensure that they recruit their family, friends, work colleagues and request for their support when the circumstances for them to seek help (Garey, 1995).The mothers are going to enlighten on finding surprises such as a sick child are inevitable. Thus ensuring that they always have a backup plan in place is of paramount importance. Teaching them about the importance of saving some money for the emergency occasion is paramount as the money could come in handy is such emergencies. Additionally emphasizing the importance of the support systems through which they can form a merry go round will also be covered in the workshop considering that the majority of these mothers live in the same environment (Henderson, 2011).

Additionally helping the mothers locate a reliable childcare they can be leaving their children as they go to work having the comfort that the child is in reliable hands is an important fact. Teaching the mothers on the best means and strategies of establishing priorities, working smarter as well as being able to delegate effectively will make it easier to manage their time between home and work. The workshop is going to emphasize the importance of the mothers being flexible knowing that when it comes to children things change at a moment’s notice (Peterson, 2012). Thus emphasizing that they should be ready to take on the task that comes at any time will be given due emphasis. Finally, emphasizing that they need to create time for them to be able to make affirmations about themselves as well as what is best for their children will emphasize in the workshop. Helping them find ways to relieve stress, relax and minimize the tension that come the environment they reside in is going to help them perform better in their jobs as well as parents (Garey, 1995).

Question Two

The workshop that we are going to conduct about the individual transitioning from prison to the community is going to encompass a myriad of issues to ease the transition. Considering the community and environment that these individuals live in is a predisposing factor to criminality made them be imprisoned in the first place, offering means to lessen their predisposition will be paramount. Thus, the workshop is going to entail treatments related to substance abuse, access to social services available in the community, seeking housing for them among others (Layton, Ardern, & Lee, 2010). The main issues that predispose these individuals to criminality include the harsh living conditions, lack of a reliable housing, lack familial and social attachments as well as inability to find legitimate sources of livelihood. Thus, the workshop is going to encompass the means that the individuals, in this case, can be assisted to access the community services that will keep them away from criminality.

In the assessment of the services that these individuals are going to benefit from, I conducted a research of the various reason that the made these individuals go to prison in the first place. The inaccessibility to the drug treatment program was one of the causes that saw the individuals get crimes to get money to finance their additions. Additionally, drugs additions compromise the peoples’ ability to access the gravity of the crimes they are committing. Thus with a reliable drug and substance treatment programs the urge to commit a crime to fund their addictions will have been alleviated (Haight, Bamba, & Helton, 2009). The community lacks the reliable social services that the individuals can rely on to establish firm relationships. The fact that the community made of mainly immigrants implies that the possibility of their being strong familiar attachment is negligible as most of them are out working.

Thus, the possibility of getting into the poor company and being socialized is high thus offering reliable attachments will go a long way in assistance integration. Lack of reliable jobs in the community mainly to a lack of education is the other factor I realized upon carrying out a survey of what the released inmates had in common. Thus offering the individuals basic education to help them get a job is going to assist in their reintegration. Thus equipping them with job hunting skills as well as connecting them with employers is going to assist their integration as it improves their self-perception and sense of worthiness (Layton, Ardern, & Lee, 2010). Lack of reliable housing is the other issue that the individuals had in common. Thus, the workshop is going to offer contact of the areas the community offers housing for individuals released from prison until they can support themselves.

Question Three

About the workshop for the individuals caring for their old parents as well as raising their families, the workshop has the realization that the environment made of immigrants. Most of these immigrants live with their old parents who have come to access the better social amenities. The fact that these parents cannot feed they make it imperative that their relations feed care of them as well as their families. Considering that these aging faced with numerous health and social problems, the individuals taking care of them are on occasions overwhelmed and consequently neglect their immediate family (Harway, 1996). Thus, the workshop is intended to ensure that these individuals can adequately care for their elderly parents as well as fail to neglect their immediate family.

To assess the issues to include in the workshop, I conducted a survey trying to identify the issues that the caregivers are contending with as they take care of their aging parents. Through the assessment of the issue that they face, it was easier to design the appropriate intervention mechanism to address the issues. Additionally, I also evaluated the available support mechanisms’ available to the caregivers to give me an idea of the support system that should be suctioned the community to help them manage the stresses (Johnson, 1998). Assessing the membership of the caregivers to any social help group is the other strategy I used in the trying to identify the desired interventions for the caregivers in the workshop. The interventions, as well as techniques that are going to include in the workshop, are going address the various stresses and issues that the caregivers are prone. The interventions are going to be tailor-made to address anger, depression, overwhelm, shame and embarrassment, fear and anxiety that are among the issues I find to be affecting the caregivers. Thus offering a suggestion of the trusted psychotherapy centers for them to get help will help in managing the stressing conditions.

Additionally advising them to form a self-help group to assist in advising each other as well as offering moral and actual support are some of the strategies that I will be assisting them to develop. Training the caregivers on the most effective and efficient means of managing their time to be able to juggle between their families and aging parents is the other technique that is going to help in addressing the stress. Designing counseling session for the [families and their spouses is a technique we are going to utilize as it will assist in minimizing the rate of marital issues that are very prevalent among spouses in the community (Johnson, 1998). Additionally offering training to the caregivers in terms of handling their finances as well as task distribution is going to assist in reducing the financial strains by the caregivers as well as being overwhelmed. Offering the caregivers with the contacts they can use when they think they need help is the last element that is going to be covered the workshop to make their services run as smooth as possible (Hareven, 1996).

Question Four

The agency will also be holding a workshop to assist the parent in the community to assist their children transition to adulthood successfully. The multicultural nature of the community makes the probability of the children have bad influences very high, thus the possibility of deviance. Additionally the high crime and gang relations in the community make it probable that the young teens are going to inculcate into joining gangs if not properly mentored as they enter into adulthood (SmithBattle, & Leonard, 2012). The fact that the parents in this community have little time for their families as they try to find a livelihood additionally implies that their teen children are on most occasions by themselves. Thus, the workshop is going to be offering the parents of these teens a means on how they can adequately address the probable challenges that their children are prone to encountering.

To assess the intervention that the parents in this community require to be able to deal with their teenage children, I conducted a survey of the available recreation facilities in the community. The fact that they were lacking implied that the youth did not have a place they can receive mentorship other than from the parents who are barely available. Looking at the teenagers role models in their families was the other strategy I made us of in designing the workshop. I also surveyed the youth about their perception of the media influence as well as the relationships they have with their parents (Gunde et al., 2015). Additionally the presence of many gangs in the community who are always preying on the young teens for recruiting into their gangs meant that the interventions had to be taking easily before the children are introduced. Thus, the most immediate training that we are subjecting the parents is to ensure that they have adequate time to counsel their children as well as monitoring who are their friends.            Through offering advice relating to the decision making, the parents will be in a position to make their children become responsible adults. Teaching the parents on how to advice and monitor the kind of media exposure that the children are receiving is going to assist in alleviating the children from negative media exposures such as prostitution. Counseling the children on matters too with drugs will also make sure that the young adults are aware of the adverse effects that abusing drugs are going to have on them (Kogan, Allen & Brody, 2015). Additionally we are going to emphasize the significance of the parents having a positive relationship with their teenagers that will make it possible for them to share with the parents the issues disturbing them. Additionally, the sharing will make it possible for the parent to be able to learn the best way to assist their children hand the challenging life issues. Above all, advising the parents to be the best role models for their teenagers is going to make them responsible adults when they grow.
