Elliptical Bike Maintenance Guide

If you want to prevent your elliptical bike squeaking or to make noise on the wheel and rail, then it is essential that you keep it regularly. Here is all you need to know to increase the life of your elliptical, how to clean it after each workout, how to maintain it and what lubricant to use to lubricate the bearings.

1) Clean your elliptical bike after each workout

When you train on your elliptical bike, you sweat, and it is essential to clean your elliptical correctly to eliminate traces of sweat, that is, the level of the handles, the pulse sensors, the console, the rail and, possibly, the pedals. All you have to do is clean these places with a cloth. Lightly damp the first cloth or use a cleaning product like this, suitable for elliptical bicycles and other fitness machines (in any case, use a product that is not corrosive and does not damage the plastic and metal parts). Then clean well to avoid leaving water in the machine.

The cleaning of your elliptical bike lasts 30 seconds, but avoid the white traces due to perspiration and the penetration of sweat inside your fitness device.

2) Keep your elliptical bike once a year

The maintenance of an elliptical bike, such as the maintenance of any other type of fitness machine, whether the exercise bike, the rowing machine or the treadmill, should be done once a year. The annual maintenance increases the useful life of your elliptical bike and avoids the occurrence of friction or chirping noises of wheels, central rails, pedals or internal bearings. Find at cheap price...

These are the steps to follow during the annual maintenance of your elliptical bike:

  • Check the seals and bearings and cover them if necessary (use a common lubricant or lubricant specially designed for fitness machines ).
  • Clean, check and lubricate the track rail if necessary.
  • Check the transmission belt
  • Check that the screws are still tightened (and tighten them again if necessary).
  • Carry out an operation check and check the brakes.

How to lubricate an elliptical bike?

Spray lubricants are easier to use because it is enough to spray the seals, bearings, and screws that hold the moving parts. Turn the pedals so that the oil flows better.

How often should I keep my elliptical bike?

Maintenance once a year is enough. If chirps or friction sounds occur during pedaling, immediately lubricate the bolts, gaskets, and bearings, but do not wait for annual maintenance. Or if you notice that your elliptical is not stable, adjust it using the wheels that are under your bike.
