To prevent yourself from repair expenses, there are some things that you must keep in mind before purchasing a computer/laptop, especially if you are a student.

Choose the correct size:

The priority is always to purchase a Laptop/Computer with large display. So, the first look we make is on the laptop with display size of 16’’ or plus as they are more attractive in use, but the main issue for students of purchasing such laptops is that they are not much practical to be used in classrooms because of the limited space available. Normally lecture halls are designed to accommodate maximum number of students. In some colleges and universities there are long desks and chairs which provide much space to each student, but the important thing is that student must be aware of the structure of classrooms before purchasing a laptop. It is recommended that the size of the laptop should be somewhere in between 12’’ to 15.1’’ to avoid problems in using it at different places.

Battery life:

This is one of the most important things to be considered at the time of purchasing a laptop. Mostly students spend 6 hours or more in their institutes and most of the laptops have two hours battery life, which may not prove to be sufficient for use in college. Some laptops like Apple Mackintosh (MACs) offer battery life of four plus hours, but they are expensive and not affordable by everyone. Therefore, it is recommended that when you go to buy a laptop, do ask the shopkeeper about the battery life, and even if you have selected one of your choices, ask about its battery life. A spare battery can also be purchased for back up purpose or you should keep the power cord along and keep your laptop charged at free times in college.
