4 Valuable Study Tips For College Freshmen

Basically, college classes are much harder than high school classes, says Allison Ourada in her article, Study Tips for College Students.  So as a college freshman you need to develop some good study habits to be able to survive your college years.

Here are 4 valuable study tips to get you started in your first year and moving forward.

1. Develop a daily study habit.

You need to understand that in college, you’ll be in class for less time than you were in high school. Make use of your time gaps when you can, even if it’s for only 10 minutes, pull out your books or notes. This will help you not have to do so much work later. Studying gradually throughout the semester is the best way to retain information instead of waiting until the night before the test and find yourself cramming.

2. Find out study techniques that work best.

Some popular study techniques are: study guides and flashcards, taking detailed notes and highlighting important information, or group studies with your classmates in apartments near ucf with study rooms.  It may take you some trial and error to find what methods work best for you, so try a few different techniques during a lower pressure point of the semester instead of right before a major exam.

3. Figure out what distracts you and avoid them.
