The most favorite clothing colors of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

There are several traditions about the clothing color of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, however, there is no authentic hadith which is referred to what the best color of Prophet’s clothing was. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ never criticize to wear any kind of natural color, yet there were three best colors such as green, white and black were preferred by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Since the Messenger of Allah (SWT) was the most practical man who had well-thought about the advantages and disadvantages of each and everything on the earth, so He ﷺ suggested the most beneficial things to people. As for a concern is the favorite color of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, so we find through different traditions that above mentioned colors like green, white and black were so much liked by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Thus, the reason is precisely that all colors have their own characteristics in different circumstances, that’s why Prophet Muhammad ﷺ wore such colors in specific conditions.
Let’s know the characteristics of the three most important colors which were worn by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

1. White clothing

White color represents purity and it is the lightest color that has no hue. As the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ led a simple life and also preached people to live with simplicity. Since white color is the sign of simplicity and man does not feel arrogance, so one reason for the idyllic color of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was obviously behind that. Moreover, Allah-Almighty orders to wear white color (Ihram) during pilgrimages Hajj or Umrah, so it also has great importance.

Once Allah’s Apostle asked a woman why she had not performed the Hajj with her family, so she replied that her family had only two camels in which one was set for the journey of Hajj by her husband and son while the second one was being used for domestic essentials.

At that, Allah’s Apostle suggested her to perform Umrah in the month of Ramadan to make the virtues equal to Hajj. So, if you want to get the Hajj’s equal reward, then full month Ramadan package will increase your virtues. However, there are some conditions which pilgrims must have their knowledge.

Therefore, before going to perform Umrah it is compulsory for pilgrims that they are not allowed to perform Umrah unless they fulfill their family amenities.

2. Green Clothing

In Islam green color is associated with paradise and it is called the heavenly color. As green is the combination of blue and yellow, so there are several advantages to it. The major characteristic of green clothing is that it prevents the ultraviolet sunrays which are very harmful to man.

3. Black clothing

Psychologically black is the color which affects the mind and body by helping to create an inconspicuous feeling, boosting confidence in appearance, increasing the sense of potential and possibility. However, it absorbs the energy in the body which is very important in the winter season.
