Sentence Structure: An Important Element of English Assignment

When it comes to prepare an English assignment, then you have to be very clear about your language and grammatical concepts. When writing an assignment in English, Sentence structure plays a significant part in forming the foundation of a well-written document. Start Your Sentence with Capital Letter - Whenever you are writing a sentence, its first letter should always be capital. This is a golden rule of English which we always have to follow.
 
Example:- He has eaten everything.  
 
Here, we have capitalized the letter “H” as the sentence begins with it.  
 
Proper Noun Should Always Starts with a Capital Letter - Proper Noun refers to the name of a person, place, animal or thing. While constructing a sentence, whenever there is a proper noun ( even if it is in a middle of a sentence) it should start with a capital letter only.
 
Example:- This watch belongs to Jack.
 
Although, Jack here is the last word of the sentence, but it is capitalized as it is a proper noun.  
 
Correct Use of Punctuation - Punctuations play a very important role in sentence formation. It makes the sentence interactive and tells you about the feelings and expression of a person and the perspective behind that particular sentence. It helps in clarifying the meaning of the sentence.
 
Example - Adom said, “ Neal was screaming in front of the team.”
 
Here, the double quotes are used to reflect the fact the statement is made by Adom.  
 
Be Clear with Your Grammatical Concepts - Grammar plays a very important part in your sentence structure. Your concepts should be very clear while constructing a sentence as it is a structure of your language. With the proper use of grammar, you can easily specify the meaning of the sentence so that the reader can understand it properly.
 
Proper Use of Tenses - Tense is something which expresses a time in reference to the verb. Because it talks about the time, it becomes an important component of sentence structure in an assignment. Mainly there are three types of tenses- Past, Present and Future. Apart from this there are many sub- types of these categories of tenses.
 
Use of Active Voice - Use active voice in your English assignments. This is because active voice is easier to connect with the reader as compared to the passive voice. It makes the document more readable and easy to understand as well.
 
Example:- “An apple is being eaten by me.” - This is a passive sentence and the reader may take sometime to understand it.
 
“I am eating an apple.” - This is an active sentence and easy to understand for the reader as it is showing the relation between a person and the apple directly.
