The first step in skin care is cleansing the skin, which incidentally is very important. It is essential that you do not use the same soap for your face as you do for the rest of your body. Therefore restrict the use of your body soap or wash to the other parts of the body, while using a facial cleanser for the face. While using such cleansers, it is important to use a gel based one for summers as it is refreshing and a cream based one for winters as it helps your skin from becoming too dry. Liquid cleansers can be either very thick or thin, depending on the product you have bought. The best way to use it is to apply it all over your face evenly and then remove it using a damp facecloth dipped in lukewarm water.

The next step in skin care is toning, which is something that most women forget. Using a toner not only refreshes your skin and closes your pores but also removes the excess cleanser that is left behind after your cleansing routine. It is pertinent to note that cleansers remain on your face for a very little time and therefore you would be best advised not to spend a fortune on them. Instead, you should save your money and spend it on moisturizers, sunblock lotions and other such treatment systems.

Moreover, it is essential to note that summers are grimy months, which often lead to excess production of sebum, which could cause more breakouts. This can be avoided by adding an extra skin care time in your routine. Additionally, if you have any breakouts on your lower cheeks, then this could be due to problems in your gums and teeth. Therefore it would do you good to have it checked before starting any skin care treatment.

Skincare is something that should be started at a very young age, especially if you want to have good and glowing skin throughout your life. Making cleansing and moisturizing a habit right from the beginning will ensure that you do it even when you are tired or simply lazy. Good skin care will make you use protective creams and blocks to prevent the problems caused by excessive exposure to the sun and tanning. Moreover, usage of such creams will help reduce the lines on your face as also the occurrence of skin diseases.

It is important to eat healthy and avoid foods like sugars, fried stuff, carbohydrates, cakes, alcohol and greasy food. Last but not least; sleep is equally important for maintaining excellent skin. It is important that you give your body and skin adequate rest by not skimping on your beauty sleep. I guess that is why it is called beauty sleep, for if you sleep well your skin remains beautiful, else it starts showing all the signs of aging.
