Our body consists of billions of nerves, and most of these nerves are the peripheral nerves. They are structured like a branch of a tree spreading its branch to every part of our body for transmitting back the message back to the base which is the brain and the spinal cord. And when your nerves are functioning properly, it provides your brain with the information that it needs which helps us to recognize pain as well as move our muscles. It also helps our internal organs to work properly. But when the peripheral nerves get damaged, people will find making difficulty doing their regular task difficult such as walking, a sudden sensation of unrelenting pain and you may even end up with a serious injury as you won't be able to brace yourself when you fall. More than billions of people from all over the world are suffering from peripheral nerve damage.

Causes of nerve damage

As per research, it has been found that diabetes is one of the primary reasons behind nerve damage. People also inherit nerve disorders which might be the reason behind peripheral nerve damage too. Other than these, Lyme disease and repetitive motion can also cause nerve damage.

One can also suffer from nerve damage if they have been through some trauma such as car accident, aging, cancer medications, aging as well as exposure to certain toxins such as cancer medications, alcohol, mercury, lead as well as arsenic. Autoimmune disorders and infections such as HIV, hepatitis C. diphtheria, rheumatoid arthritis, Epstein-Barr, as well as Guillain-Barre syndromes can also lead to the damage of the peripheral nerves. But, on multiple occasions, the primary reason behind nerve damage couldn’t be found.

But, if diagnosed at the beginning stages, nerve damages can be easily treated. It has been found through research that nerve damages takes time to develop and get severe. Some of the most common causes of nerve damage are:

A tingling, numbness or burning sensation

When the nerves get compressed, it can result in a sudden feeling of a burning or tingling sensation in the hands or legs. Though this pain doesn't last for long, they might be an indication that you are suffering from some nerve damage which will need treatment.

Difficulty controlling body parts

When people start suffering from broken Autonomic nervous system, they face difficulty controlling their body parts.

Feeling like peeing all the time

A broken peripheral nervous system might send false bladder message to your nerve which especially happens to women after giving birth to their baby through the Vagina or anybody who is suffering from diabetes.

Sudden intense headache

This is a condition called occipital neuralgia that happens to people when their neck nerves get pinched or blocked suddenly.

Too much sweating

When your sweat glands are compromised by the nerve that is carrying information to the brain, you may start experiencing intense sweating.

So, if you are suffering from any of the above-said syndromes, then it is high time that you start seeking treatment for it.
