Tabbing your content works well for those who site has a lot of information to share but they only wants to show the data that the user might be interested in reading. But what started as a good thing for the user ended badly for the search engine crawlers.

When you tabbed your content using the expandable sections it seemed a bit troublesome for the crawlers to read the text and because of that the website couldn’t get indexed or ranked.

Google discarded the websites that used the “click-to-expand” type of content because it thought they were hiding something from the user, but this was not exactly the intention.
