PCOD- TACKLE THE POISONOUS BEAST

PCOD is one of the fastest growing epidemic in the modern world. It is an unfortunate result of our lifestyle, eating habits, sedentary routine and the effect of GMO foods on our body.

It is estimated that almost 90% of the girls today get effected by PCOD these days. Many doctors prescribe pills to them from an early age.

There is only one cure for PCOD- lifestyle management.

It is imperative that you manage your eating habits well, say experts. The following are the most important things to keep in mind:

  1. Follow a healthy diet. The most important factor and the one habit that will matter the most for PCOD recovery is diet and nutrition. Expert Nutritionist Shikha Mahajan says, “carbs are a poison for  PCOD patient. However, slow release carbs, high fat and high protein is important”. PCOD can be totally remedied by just managing your diet well.
  2. Exercise: working out is a part and parcel of a healthy diet and should be done in moderation. Even 20 minutes workout sessions twice a week can show drastic results over a span of just a few months.
  3. Pranayama: stress is one of the largest factors in PCOD is stress. Pranayama helps in stress management and releases calming hormones so it wont worsen your PCOD.
