Where to locate the lights of the pool is a more common doubt that it seems, and it is not so easy to determine the best location to achieve optimal lighting of our pool.

One of the aspects that are most taken into account when it comes to the distribution and location of the LED pool light is to try not to orient them towards the house or areas of greater use on our part, in order to avoid disturbing the "direct" exposure to the focus.

Other important points are:

  • One focus only in small pools without obstacles, a single focus is sufficient, as long as it can be installed at a short end to illuminate the length of the pool. In this way, we will obtain a bright and best quality of Pentair Intellibrite Colour LED Pool Light.
  • Focus faces: Whenever possible, we recommend installing Pentair Aqualight White Lighting the spotlights centered on the short ends of the pool and facing each other. This option provides the best distribution of light and thanks to facing the spotlights, it is ensured that any obstruction in the pool that could cause a shadow, will be illuminated by the focus of the opposite end.
  • Lighting from the wide part of the pool. In this case, since this pool is longer than it is usually able to reach a spotlight (around 10 m), Spa Lights are installed along a wall distributed in an equidistant manner. As a general rule, with a distance of 2.5 meters between spotlights and 1.25 meters with respect to the ends of the side.

In any case, most swimming pools nowadays have a wide variety of stairs, ledges, benches or other elements, designed to increase the safety and functionality of them.

As is logical, to increase this security, these elements must be properly illuminated at night without affecting the uniform distribution of light in the rest of the pool. F

As a general rule to illuminate these elements, the Pentair Intellibrite White LED Pool Light should be installed at a depth of 300 mm from the top of the pool since the steps and benches are usually at a depth of 400 mm. Install spotlights above the rungs will ensure adequate illumination of them.

The design of the pools can vary a lot but the basic principles are the same. In this way, lighting from two opposite ends will always provide the best result in pools below 12 meters in length.
