Idris Elba: His Debut Fight & Why He Ended His Kickboxing Career

Idris Elba, we all know him for his famous movies like Avengers, Thor, and Pacific Rim. Many people don’t know this he is a pro kickboxer too. In 2017, his new series on Discovery Channel was all about his fighting debut. The 44-year-old actor broke the stereotype to discover his physical strength.

Idris Elba fight has won maximum hearts by showing his true fighting spirit. He was quite passionate about kickboxing and he got trained by the best coach.

Idris Elba learns kickboxing in just 12 months, which is quite tremendous and shocking.  He mentioned about his keen interest in kickboxing where he used to go and watch fight just for fun. He never knew that he was going to make a brilliant debut in kickboxing tournament. It was absolutely shocking news to his coach that he has won world championship Thai kickboxing for two times. According to Idris Elba, his accidental jump into an acting career, he never knew that he was going to be a successful actor.

Life gives you a very uncertain twist and turns according to Idris Elba. He was trained as a Thai kickboxer and ended up his career in acting. At the age of 44, he was all set to take this extreme challenge. He wanted to discover about his capability and strength, with the help of world-class coaches he made an excellent debut. The journey was not simple, he was undergoing a lot of things but he was not ready to give up. After the few session of his training, he was suffering from a slipped disc and his doctors highly recommended him not to continue.  Just like any blockbuster movie, he came back which is an inspiration for us.

Idris Elba is very passionate about his acting and he never compromises on his work with his interest. While working on Thor: Ragnarok he used to do sit-ups and pull-ups on sets. This shows how passionate he was towards kickboxing, and his hard work surely paid during his fights. But everything comes with the cost he was brutally injured in one of his fights and got several bruises.

He was true fighting spirit as at the age of 44, his body will never going to accept this hard training. It was all because of his dedication and hard work that gave him the strength to fight. He maintains his diet in the overall process. He feels proud of his work and achievement. Idris Elba also confesses that he can perform better than this and he wants to explore more of his strength and capabilities. He is very lucky that his family supported his dream and his kids used to love him when he was on the ring.
