Planning to move to Beirut? Looking for an apartment or studio for rent? Whether it is your first experience or last, landing on to a perfect apartment which fits your lifestyle as well as your budget is not going to be easy.

Before you sign that lease, keep these factors in mind while hunting for an apartment or studio for rent in Beirut.

Price

First and foremost factor to consider is whether you can reasonably afford to live in that apartment. So, before considering the place, you must consider your budget. Do online research to get the idea of current rental rates in the market. If you are willing to pay a high price for a preferred location, then you’ll have to find ways to cut back on your expenses. Or you can look for roommates as it will help in covering the costs. Also, keep in mind that if the rent is unusually low as compared to other rentals in that area, then this could be a big red flag. Thus, make sure that you have enough knowledge of the market rates. Before looking for an apartment and negotiating the price.

Quality

Don’t rely on those pretty online pictures or the ones you see in the catalog. You must visit the place before renting it. However, cosmetic issues like broken blinds or scratches on the wall can be fixed – usually by the landlord. Moreover, when you visit the apartment, look for its health and safety issues, such as bug problems, leaky faucets, rodents, water damage, asbestos, lead paint, dirty air filters, broken heat and air conditioning systems, broken windows, and electrical problems.

Neighborhood

Before signing the lease papers, walk around the neighborhood to get the idea of the community. Spending time in that location enables you to assess the general age and demographics of the neighborhood in a better manner. You must also check the area’s safety record. In addition to demographics and safety, check whether the community has any specific rules and regulations. If you’re moving to an apartment or studio on rent in Beirut, you must clearly understand the expectations and regulations of that locality before signing a lease. Also, look into any specific traffic or parking regulations in the area.

There can be a lot of factors other than the ones discussed above which you need to consider while looking for an apartment or studio on rent in Beirut.
