Applying antiperspirant may be an essential part of your morning routine. For many people, not applying antiperspirant leaves them self-conscious for the rest of the day. But do you know that using antiperspirant may not even work for you?

To know about effective sweaty armpits solutions, read on.

Applying antiperspirant regularly in the morning may not give you full sweat-blocking effects.

Applying antiperspirant is an art. There is a right way of doing it, and most of us may be getting it wrong every day. Here’s how to apply antiperspirant so that it works.

First things first, deodorants and antiperspirants are two different things.

Deodorants only function to mask the smell as it kills the bacteria causing body odour while antiperspirants attack sweat at source.

Aluminum is an active ingredient in antiperspirants that clogs your sweat ducts and stops your glands from producing sweat.

By applying deodorant alone, you are treating the odour and not the sweat. Also, if you shower after you wake up in the morning, your deodorant or antiperspirant ritual is less useful.

Every day when you wake up, your body starts to sweat. Now aluminum, the active ingredient present in antiperspirant is unable to penetrate wet skin. So, applying it in the morning is futile.

Thus, putting on antiperspirant as you come out of the shower won’t do much to stop sweat as the aluminum cannot pass through sweat or water to clog sweat ducts.

Effectively Applying Antiperspirant

The right time to apply antiperspirant is night and not the morning. Swiping on antiperspirant before you go to bed is more effective than spraying it in the morning.

As you apply antiperspirant at night, your sweat glands get more time to absorb aluminum. Your body cools down at night; as a result, you sweat less. This gives the antiperspirant a fighting chance to absorb into the skin and block sweat glands.

Here is the heal. Once the antiperspirant gets infiltrated into your armpit pores, you are not required to reapply it in the morning even if you shower. As the aluminum enters your pores in the night, water cannot wash it off.

Also, make sure your armpits are clean and dry before you apply antiperspirant. It is stronger than deodorant and can irritate sensitive skin. So, do not use it immediately after shaving or on irritated skin.

Thus, now you know that antiperspirant is best sweaty armpits solution and for best results, it has to be applied at night before sleeping on dry skin.
