  • Press the Window button or start
  • In the search box, type .ND and click “Enter”

  • Perform right click on the .ND file and select “Delete”

  • Navigate to “All Programs” > “QuickBooks” > “QuickBooks Database Server Manager”

  • Type “services.msc”

  • Perform right click on QuickBooksDB19 (2009), QuickBooksDB18 (2008) or QuickBooksDB17 (2007)
  • Select “Stop”
  • Perform right click & select “Start”
  • Close the Window
  • Display extensions for known file types
  • Perform right click on the Window start button
  • Choose Explore > Tools > Folder Options
  • Clear the ‘Hide extensions’ of the “known file types” by clicking “View” tab
  • Click the “View” tab again
  • Choose “Show hidden files and folders”
  • Clear the ‘Hide protected operating system files’
  • When the warning appears, click “Yes” and then “OK”
  • Close Windows Explorer


Rectify the TCP/IP settings of your connection

  • Make sure that the TCP/IP Settings are correct. If it is not correct then correct the TCP/IP Settings.
  • Ensure that network ports are running well so that QuickBooks can transfer/transmit data
  • Add the server to Windows hosts file
  • Establish a new folder for the company file
  • Create a new folder on the hosting computer
  • Enable the Windows access permission to share company file/files
  • Copy the clone of QWB (QuickBooks Database) file to the new folder
  • Use multi-user mode to open the company file
  • Follow the steps to set hosting to local files
  • Open QuickBooks, Enter “F2” key
  • The product information screen will appear
  • Below the Local Server Information on the lower left, choose “Hosting” to select the ‘local files only’
