The Service Staff Commission has released official notification on their website for the recruitment of Multi Tasking Staff under SSC. Candidates willing to apply for the exam can fill online application form till May 29, 2019. As aspirants are aware that this exam will be held in two tiers. According to SSC first tier will conduct from August 2, 2019, to September 6, 2019, and the descriptive exam (tier 2) on 17 November 2019. This is the correct time for a student to start their preparation. The first step towards the preparation of the MTS exam is to be aware of the syllabus, exam pattern and important topics. What is the syllabus of SSC MTS?

This is one of the most important questions arises in the mind of the aspirants right now. So here we describe complete SSC MTS syllabus 2019 of both the paper (tier 1 and tier 2)

Tier 1

Reasoning - Classification, Analogy, Coding-Decoding.Matrix, Word Formation.Venn Diagram Direction/Distance, Blood Relation, Missing Numbers, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning

English language - Reading, Comprehension, Fill in the Blanks, Spellings, Phrases and Idioms, Synonyms and Antonyms, One-word Substitution, Sentence Correction, Error Spotting

Numerical ability – Simplification, Interest, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Average, Problem on Ages, Speed, Distance and Time, Profit and Loss, Number Series, Number System, Mensuration, Time and Work, DI, Mixture Problem, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry

General awareness - Static GK, Science, Books and Authors, Current Affairs, Dates, Portfolios

Tier 2

Short Essay/Letter in English or any Language including 8th Schedule of the Constitution

Exam pattern

The student must have a basic idea of the question paper of the exam so that they will prepare according to that. Basically, the exam pattern gives all the information regarding the question paper of SSC MTS.

Tier 1

  • No of questions – 100

  • Total marks – 100

  • No of section – 4

  • Total time for general candidates – 90 minutes

  • Duration for physically handicapped students – 120 minutes

Tier 2

Short Essay/Letter in English or any language included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of 50 marks which should be written in 30 minutes for general candidates and 40 minutes for physically handicapped students.

Marking scheme of SSC MTS

In marking scheme students will know about marks for each question, section, and penalties for wrong answers. In the question paper, there are 4 sections. Each section has 25 questions and for every correct answer, students will be awarded 1 mark. Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Paper II is of qualifying type and will only test candidates’ elementary skills. It will consist of 50 marks. Only those candidates who qualified the paper I will be eligible to write Paper II.
