A brief history of coffee

Nowadays, coffee is one of the most popular beverages with well-recognized aroma and flavor. There is no person who will not recognize this unique flavor at the first smell. As someone who is in love with this fragrance, I can not imagine that my day starts with no favorite coffee, coffee before lunch, after lunch, at work, and after a busy day at work, so while I sit and chat with my friend or when He called me and said: "Do we want coffee?" I always find an excuse to drink coffee !!!

And so the other day I sit and drink the third cup in a row and wonder what the coffee is and where does it come from?

Coffee originated from Ethiopia and was named after the eponymous Ethiopian province. Soon, as early as the 9th century, it spread to Arabia, more precisely to Yemen, where a beverage from dried and fried seeds of the plants called the Arabs were called "ghahweh". From there, she flew from the Moka port to other parts of the world. Hence the name of coffee mocca.

Later about 1555, she arrived in Constantinople. Bars were places where she was preparing and served the guests who gathered and exchanged contacts. The habit of drinking coffee became so widespread that the government wanted to introduce a ban for a while, as it was allegedly taking a lot of time and people did not do their job well enough. But it did not bear fruit, so this magical drink came to Europe. Venetian merchants transported it to Venice, where the first tavern was opened in the middle of the 17th century. It soon spread to other European cities. With coffee, they plotted for conspiracies, raising revolutions, writing books, composing sonate ...

At the end of the 17th century, the Turkish hike to Vienna ended with failure. Withdrawing, soldiers forgot coffee bags, and Vienna, delighted with a newly discovered black beverage, opened their first taverns. The demand for coffee has become so great that French King Louis XIV ordered that several plants be transferred to the Caribbean, who were in French possession, in order to meet the required quantities. From here, from the island of Martinique, this unique plant comes to Latin America, where it is experiencing great success.

Today it is grown in over 70 countries in the world. Especially corresponds to the climate of the equatorial regions. There are several species, and the most famous are Arabica and Robusta. It is prepared by cooking roasted coffee plant seeds and is usually served hot. You can drink it hot or cold, with sugar or without. Some people like milk or whipped cream. And you can prepare it in a variety of ways, like Turkish coffee, espresso, filter coffee, instant coffee, cappuccino, macchiato ...
