Chinese Chilly Chicken Recipe

The favourite chicken recipe with the Chinese twist is here to delight you with the amazing and delicious taste. This chilli chicken can be served on any occasion whether it's a small get-together or a marriage function. This chilly chicken will surely be loved by everyone.

 

Ingredients Required to make Chinese chilly chicken recipe

 

Chicken breasts -4 (Chopped into 1” bits)

 

For marinade

 

Cornstarch -4 tbsp

Egg-1

Vinegar-1 tbsp

Soya sauce-1 tsp

Salt-½ tsp

 

For cooking procedure

 

Slit Green Chillies (Lengthwise)-6 small

Finely chopped garlic cloves-4

Deseeded green pepper-1 (chopped into 1” pieces)

Shallot-1 (chopped into 1” pieces)

Cornstarch-1 tbsp

Water-½ cup

Soya sauce-1 tsp

Vinegar-1 tsp

Salt-½ tsp

Oil-For deep-frying

 

The process to make Chinese chilli chicken

 

  1. In a bowl, add all the marinade ingredients and make a nice batter out of it.

  2. Now add chicken pieces into the batter and coat the batter evenly in each chicken pieces. Once done, keep them aside for around half an hour.

  3. Take a non-stick pan and add heat for deep frying the chicken. Once the oil is heated enough, add around 6 to 8 chicken pieces and fry them for 6 to 7 minutes or until they cooked properly from all the sides.

  4. Repeat the same steps to cook all the chicken pieces.

  5. Once done, remove the chicken from the pan and place on the absorbent paper.

  6. Remove the oil from the pan and remain around 2 tablespoons of oil.

  7. Meanwhile, take a small bowl and add cornstarch and water. Mix well.

  8. Again put the pan on the stove and heat the oil. Then add garlic, green chillies, green pepper and shallot. Stir fry them for around 30 seconds.

  9. Now add vinegar and soya sauce, give 2-3 quick whisks and quickly add the cornstarch-water paste.

  10. Cook till the sauce thicken, if it gets too thick then add some water.

  11. Wait until the bubbles start to appear, then add fried chicken pieces.

  12. Add salt from the top and stir-fry the chicken for around 2 more minutes and put the flame off.

  13. Transform the chicken into the serving plate.

  14. Chinese chilli chicken is ready, serve hot with Chinese fried rice or plain rice or noodles.
