Three Ingredients to Avoid in Your Beauty Products

Many people like to spend a lot of time and effort in making sure they are looking after their body. You make sure you are working out daily, you eat healthy organic food, but what about the beauty products you are using? Many people do not take into account the wide range of beauty products they are using and the harsh chemicals they are putting on their skin that are then being absorbed into their bodies. On a single day you can be using, shampoo, conditioner, face wash, body wash, moisturizers, make-up, and deodorant; all of these products could be hiding potentially harmful ingredients that with repeated use could cause damage to your body. Here are some of the key ingredients you want to avoid with your beauty products.

 Parabens

Parabens are chemicals that are used as a preservative in many beauty products. The problem with parabens is that they appear to your body very similar to estrogen. Parabens can disrupt your endocrine system, which controls your hormone balance. Parabens have even been liked to breast cancer. Keep a look out for products such as natural body cream that is paraben free to prevent harsh chemicals being absorbed through your skin.

 Sulfates

Sulfates are cleansing chemicals that are often included in products that foam up, such as shampoos, face wash, and body wash. Sulfates, like parabens are known for being hormone disruptors but can also act as irritants to skin and eyes. Sulfates are also known for stripping away hair dye, so if you’ve just spent a fortune getting your hair done, make sure you aren’t running it by using harsh sulfates on your hair! Try to find products that are sulfate free, they might not lather up like you are used to but will do a better job at taking care of your skin and hair.

 Phthalates

Phthalates are a double danger as not only do they hide in your healthcare and beauty products but also in the bottles they are stored in. these chemicals are known for damaging reproductive help and as with sulfates and parabens, acting as hormone disruptors.  Look for both products and bottles that are phthalate free to avoid a build up in your system.

When looking for health and beauty products take the time to look at the ingredients, try to choose products where not only can you pronounce all the ingredients but also actually know what they are. Look for products that include natural and organic ingredients. A natural body cream is going to be far better for you than one that happens to smell good but has some dangerous ingredients.
