Everything about PMP Certification 2019

Project Management Professional is one of the 8 recognized certification offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI). The program is designed to measure the competency level of skilled and experienced project managers. On average, it takes around 2-3 months to prepare and take PMP Certification training to attain certification. It is recommended to take the Project Management Professional (PMP) training from a PMI approved institute.

The applicant needs to fulfill in-demand business functions and stand out; also they required having a combination of appropriate skills, experience and a passion for the deserved professional development units. Following is the eligibility criterion for a PMP Certification:

  • Minimum of three years (36 months) of project management experience.
  • 4,500 hours spent on direct and leading projects for bachelors or undergraduate.
  • 7,500 hours spent on direct and leading projects for non-bachelors.
  • 35 hours of project management education.

Collect all the required supporting documents and earn the qualifying Professional Development hours (PDs). Recall and document information about each of the projects worked on. Certain Professional Development Hours (PDs) are required to be eligible for the PMP Certification.

Online certification consists of 200 multiple choice questions; all related to areas of project management involving questions that test your abilities, skills, and standards along with 35-hour PMP certification training is mandatory, irrespective of the education or experience you hold.

The exam questions are based on the following domains:

  • Planning – 24%
  • Initiating – 13%
  • Executing – 30%
  • Monitoring & Controlling – 25%
  • Closing – 8%

The difficulty level makes upon how well the applicant prepares for the examination. The Certification checks the understanding of the PMI Methodology. It requires the practical experience of the field and extensive PMP certification training.
