What is chronic kidney disease?

Chronic kidney disease refers to the inability of the kidneys to filter waste from the blood. Chronic kidney disease is the gradual loss of kidney function over several years. If the damage is extreme, which usually happens at the end-stage renal disease, the kidney may lose their functioning at all. Consequently, hazardous levels of fluid may accumulate inside the bloodstream of the body, making patients feel sick.

Kidney disease happens due to the damage to the filtering units called nephrons. These small filters of the kidney are present in millions in the kidney that filters blood for the toxins. Resultant, these filters sieve out important nutrient while retaining toxin when damaged. Ayurvedic medicine for kidney helps to release those toxins from the blood by facilitating urine naturally without an involvement of a surgery.

Signs of chronic kidney disease

Chronic kidney disease is the reduction in the output of the kidney slowly in stages. In the initial stages, the kidneys are still able to perform filtration while at the late stage, this job of the kidney gets disturbed. The signs that may appear in the late stages are:

  • Dry or patchy skin
  • Muscle cramps at night
  • Nausea
  • Tiredness
  • Swelling in the body
  • Puffy eyes
  • Extreme panting
  • Blood in the urine
  • Too much or too reduce urine
  • Difficulty when concentrating
  • Back pain
  • Abdominal pain
  • Fever
  • Vomiting

Facing one or more of the above-mentioned signs in the body is an indication that there is a serious health condition prevailing in the body. Therefore, it is better to consult an ayurvedic specialist who can suggest ayurvedic medicine for kidney disease according to the health of the patients.

Diagnosing chronic kidney disease

To diagnose, your doctor will prescribe an array of tests to know the filtration capacity of the kidneys. Those tests include:

  • eGFR: Glomerular filtration rate to know the efficiency of the kidneys in cleaning the blood
  • Urine test: To examine if there is protein in your urine
  • Serum creatinine: The test measures creatinine, chemical waste in the blood.

Stages of chronic kidney disease

Chronic kidney disease does not happen all at once, rather gradually in stages. This classification is done based on the glomerular filtration rate, a signifier of efficiency of the kidney. The last stage of chronic kidney disease is also called end-stage renal disease because at that stage renal is insufficient to perform filtration.

The five stages of kidney disease are as follow:

  • Stage 1: Lenient kidney damage with GFR measure 90mL/min or more
  • Stage 2: Mild damage with reduced GFR between 60 and 89 mL/min
  • Stage 3: GFR ranging in between 30 and 59 mL/min
  • Stage 4: Severe kidney damage
  • Stage 5: End-stage renal disease with GFR dropped to 15mL/min or less

Ayurveda for a healthy kidney

Ayurvedic medicine for kidney is the best possible treatment to prevent the kidney from losing its function or damaged kidney to get better. Yes, there are other treatments as well out there, say, dialysis and transplant, but they have not been wise enough for the patients because of certain complications involved.

Dialysis is a surgical treatment to allow the kidneys to purify the blood for toxins when kidneys are not able to do this. However, dialysis is a continuous and expensive procedure yet temporary at the same time. There has been reported a number of cases, revealing the death of the patients during the treatment. Further, if you leave the procedure, you will notice signs of kidney disease appearing again. Hence, it can be concluded that Ayurveda is the best approach to restore the output of the kidney.
