Ever wondered which is the perfect activity for the summers? It is biking, and more than half of the people who bike go for recreational trips. In fact, there is nothing more exhilarating than travelling the stretch of dusty countryside on a mountain bike. That is why there are a plethora of services offered when you take a bike for hire in Las Vegas. You will find many bicycle-friendly places in the USA. Boulder, Colorado is one of those places where people engage in biking for exploring the wild outdoors and the thrill of the riding on sloping hills. However, in Las Vegas, there is something that draws tourists too. There are amazing biking trails in Las Vegas such as Burkholder Trail and the Historic Railroad Trail. Las Vegas is known for many things, but their best-kept secret is the plentiful biking trails. With oodles of family-friendly routes to choose from, there is a trail to fit every lifestyle and fitness level.

Burkholder Trail:

This 3.2 mile trail connects the Lake Mead Parkway to the River Mountain Loop Trail in Henderson. Whether you are continuing from one trail-head to the next or out for a leisurely ride this paved path is perfect for families. The path runs along the North side of Heritage Park and includes beautiful landscaping and lighting. There are also benches placed strategically along the way if you need to take a quick snack break. There are several street crossings so we don’t advise this path if you have older children on their own bikes. Make sure to bring sunscreen along as there is not much shade on the Eastern leg of the path. Check out this map of the route and go to Las Vegas and rent a bike.

Historic Railroad Trail:

The Historic Railroad Trail hugs the hills on the Southern shoreline of Lake Mead and offers panoramic views. The riding surface is hard packed dirt and gravel for the full 3.7 miles. The path is wide, but do take care as there are no guard rails in place. You don’t want to miss the 5 tunnels blasted through the hills in 1930. Originally meant for trains to pass through, they now welcome those on bike or on foot. The end point of this trail drops you at the visitor parking lot for the famed Hoover Dam. To reach the Hoover Dam Visitor Center, take the elevator down to the first level and follow the signs. Start planning your trip with a bike for hire in Las Vegas.
