Bridesmaids are an important part of any wedding. These wonderful women are so special that you picked them to stand beside you while you marry the love of your life. Your wedding may be your big day but that doesn't mean they shouldn't look special as well. Just make sure you pick bridesmaid dresses that will make your wedding dress stand out when compared to them.

Color

You should have the dresses match your wedding's color scheme. This will help the bridesmaids fit in. You can choose one color from the scheme to have all the girls wear or pick a few colors and put each girl in the color they'll look best in. Make sure when you put the color or colors you choose next to white, the white stands out. You are the center of attention, after all. If the colors in your color scheme don't make white stand out, choose a darker version of the color. It will still somewhat fit in with the scheme.

Length and Hemline

You have a lot of freedom with the length and hemline. You can give all the girls the same dress length and hemline or you can mix and match to fit each girl individually. Again, make sure you stand out. If your dress is floor length, make sure none of the bridesmaid dresses are. If your gown is poofy, keep the bridesmaids in slimmer silhouettes.

Sleeves and Neckline

The same applies to the neckline and sleeves. Make sure no one has the same neckline and sleeve length as you so you'll look completely unique. Since some necklines can look very similar, make sure the bridesmaid dresses have necklines that look drastically different from yours just to be safe. Beyond that, what you do is up to you. Make everything uniform or choose what best suits each woman.

To Match Or Not To Match?

Whether you have all the bridesmaids match is entirely up to personal preference. Choosing the dresses for each girl individually will ensure few their personalities shine through. Having everyone in the same dress will help you stand out a bit more. You just have to decide which you like better.
