Only the countries with very low economic levels are affected and therefore they cannot enter the “life competition”. In this category of countries, income growth is almost always accompanied by growth in hygiene and health care and, as a result, growth in life expectancy.In countries where infectious diseases and their consequences are already very little involved in overall mortality (and the Czech Republic is among them), income growth is no longer reflected in the increase in life expectancy. Why is that so?Income growth, on the one hand, makes it possible to increase the level of health care. For example, if we compare the Czech Republic with the USA, we will find that for individual types of cancer, the percentage of people in cancer in the Czech Republic is significantly higher than in the US. In other words, thanks to modern medical care (surgical removal of the tumor, radiation, chemotherapy), far more people are rescued from the outbreak of disease than in the Czech Republic. Similarly, in the US, far more people are being rescued from the effects of atherosclerosis through highly skilled and challenging heart and blood vessels. Perhaps the most significant difference in the past was in the case of kidney failure, when in a certain period in the USA thanks to dialysis rescued incomparably more affected than in the Czech Republic. In this way, a higher economic level and consequently better instrumentation and a better level of health care will lengthen life expectancy. Like it? Share it! |
