Good parenting will transform your relationship with children into one of respect, guidance and will turn them into disciplined and organized adults. It’s how well you interact with them and teach them vital things at the right age that makes all the difference in their lives.
At different stages of your child's life, you need to manage them differently so that they turn out into well-adjusted children when they are in their teenage years and also when they move into adult life.
Some Good Parenting Tips For Kids Between Ages Three And Eight
When you have children between three to eight years of age or perhaps 10, you will find them to be exploring the world through awestruck eyes, asking so many things and learning something new every time they do something, go out at school etc. They are very active, so you have to keep up with them to control their habits and teach them good things. Here are a couple of interesting good parenting tips for children from three to eight years of age:
- When you take the child to a toy shop or the local department store wherein he or she picks up an unusual item or something that you feel is just not right or asking for too many toys, say no firmly. You should not shout or scold the child, instead say that it is not possibie to get the item now since there are so many already in the house. It can wait a while to buy the item or it might not be needed as some other things are going to be coming along giving the same amount of enjoyment
- Invite other kids of the same age and have them play together as this will increase fun, enjoyment and also interaction. Kids need to be with others of their age as they can learn a lot and have a lot of enjoyment. Introduce our own games into their play, have competitions and also let them do something active with their hands like painting, drawing, sticking seashells on paper, craft work etc, that let them work with third hands and also think a bit.
- Take them to parks and gardens where they get to learn about nature. Kids between the ages of three to eight are curious about the world around them and want to learn it more. When you take them to such places they get exposed to it in the best possible way and enjoy it a lot. They will ask questions about flowers, butterflies, clouds, plants and whatever they see. You can also teach them a little about gardening by showing how a seed can be put into a pot and then watered regularly till it shoots up.
