Choose one that fits your budget.

Concrete Planters

Revamp your garden with these nature-friendly and chic concrete planters.

Materials: concrete mix, water, 2 different sized containers (one larger than the other), cooking oil, paint, and a drill.

  1. To create a concrete planter, mix water and concrete in a wheelbarrow or bucket.
  2. Prepare two different sized containers to use as your planter mold.
  3. Coat the inside of the larger mold with cooking oil and place your smaller container inside.
  4. Pour in the concrete between the two containers and wait until it's dried before removing them.
  5. Finally, drill drainage holes and paint the concrete.
  6. You can now enjoy planting your favorite flowers.

Concrete Pendant Lamps

Create a cool and industrial light fixture for your home with concrete pendant lamps.

Materials: concrete mix, a small plastic bottle, 2 2-liter soda bottles, socket, switch, cord, metal tube, nuts, a deck screw, sandpaper, box cutter, scissors, wire cutters and a drill.

  1. To create a concrete pendant lamp, simply use a box cutter to poke a hole and scissors to cut off the bottom of the large soda bottle.
  2. Then, you'll have to drill holes into the bottle caps. Make sure they're big enough for the metal tube.
  3. Thread the metal tube through both of the bottle caps and secure each cap with nuts on either side.
  4. Screw the bottles back into the connected caps.
  5. Next, stabilize the bottle with a deck screw.
  6. Pour the concrete mix and fill the mold.
  7. Wait until everything is dry before using the box cutter and scissors to remove the plastic bottles.
  8. Smooth the edges with sandpaper.
  9. Cut the socket end of the wire and connect it to the bolt hole.
  10. Finally, strip the wires and twist them together. Make sure to cover the exposed metal.

Concrete Candle Holders

Light your living room with candles placed in adorable egg-shaped, cemented candle holders.

Materials: an eggshell, craft wire, cardboard, tape, and concrete mix.

  1. To create a concrete candle holder, drain an egg by cracking the top side open.
  2. Dry the inside of the shell.
  3. Place the eggshell on top of a plastic bottle cap and secure it with tape.
  4. Cut a strip of cardboard (about 2 inches) and roll it.
  5. Wrap the sides and bottom of the cardboard with tape.
  6. Fill the egg with rapid set concrete mix and place the cardboard right in the middle.
  7. Let it dry for a day or two.
  8. Use craft wire to create a stand.

Creating cool and budget-friendly concrete projects will help you save a lot of money. Remember to create your own concrete mix with expert guidance to get the ratio right OR buy a rapid set concrete mix. The price depends on the brand and quality of the mix.
