Artificial intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence processes like learning, reasoning and self correction by machines especially computer system. It is dramatically advancing and is economically, socially and politically transforming the world. AI is an umbrella term that encompasses everything from robotic process automation to actual robotics and can perform diverse tasks like efficiently identifying patterns in the data, allowing businesses to gain insight out of their data. Massive amount of data can be analyzed using artificial intelligence platform to map poverty and climate change, to automate irrigation and agricultural practices, individualize learning and healthcare, predict consumption patterns, streamline energy-usage and waste management. 

Although artificial intelligence has been around since the 1950, this technology has only recently begun to find real-world applications. AI has gained prominence due to the fact that it can solve extremely difficult issues across various industries like education, health, commerce, entertainment, utilities, and transport. It has the ability to present knowledge about the world, to solve problems through logical deduction, to set and achieve goals, to understand spoken and written language and to infer things about the world via images, sounds and sensory outputs.

IBM's Watson is one of the best technologies that understand natural language and can respond to asked questions. AI is a study to emulate human intelligence into computer technology to assist both doctor and patients by devising novel tool to support decision making and research, by integrating activities in medical, software and cognitive sciences, by providing a laboratory for the examination, representation and cataloging medical information. It also offers a content rich discipline for the future scientific medical communities. 

Artificial Intelligence in Business - Highly repetitive tasks usually performed by humans in businesses has been replaced by robotic process. To discover information in order to better serve customers, machine learning algorithms are integrated into CRM and analytics platforms. Businesses have already incorporated chatbots into websites to provide  quick and immediate service to customers. Artificial intelligence help factories in predicting malfunctions and equipment breakdown and allow them take preemptive actions and track operating conditions and performance of factory tooling. 

Artificial Intelligence in Robotics - AI in robotics will address the challenge of taking care of an aging population and allow them have much longer independence. The incidents of traffic accidents and deaths will be drastically reduce and will also assist in handling disaster response arising from dangerous situations. 

Artificial Intelligence in Education - AI in education automates grading that allow educators to give more time to students in making them understand the concept in interesting and exiting manner. The use of artificial intelligence in education field allow teachers to assess students and adapt to their needs, thereby allowing them work at their own pace. 

Seeing the sweeping real-world applications of AI and ML and the constant advancements in the field, it is more likely that the technology will transform the way the work is performed enabling businesses to make faster and more informed decisions. It will also help in increasing operational efficiency, and innovate new products and services.
