ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE- ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT IT

Artificial Intelligence has played an important role in making human life better. Artificial Intelligence is an area of computer science that emphasizes the creation of intelligent machines that work and react like humans. AI is categorized into two categories- Weak AI and Strong AI. Weak AI is designed and trained for a particular task. The best example of Weak AI is Apple’s Siri. Strong Artificial Intelligence is designed for multipurpose i.e. it can do all tasks or can find the solution without human intervention when an unfamiliar task is given.

There are 4 types of Artificial Intelligence out which only two are currently used and the rest two are outdated. The first type of AI is Reactive Machines, It is used to make predictions but the disadvantage is that it has no memory so we cannot use it for future if we want to use the past experience.  Another type of AI is Limited Memory, it can make future decisions by using the past experience. It is most used AI as it can store the past experiences. Even the self-driving cars are designed by using this type of AI. Furthermore, the other two types of AI which are not currently used are Theory of Mind and Self Awareness.

In today’s world the Artificial Intelligence has application in various fields. It is used in the medical field to treat  patients as it is the best way to  improve patient outcomes and reducing costs. Companies are applying machine learning to make better and faster diagnoses than humans.  It is also used in education and business as it automates grading, giving educators more time. It can also assess students and adapt to their needs, helping them work at their own pace. In business field,  Robotic process automation is being applied to highly repetitive tasks normally performed by humans. Machine learning algorithms are being integrated into analytics and CRM. Some examples of the Artificial Intelligence Technology are-

Gaming : It plays a vital role in strategic games like chess, tic tac toe etc. Here the machine think of multiple possible steps based on heuristic knowledge.

Natural Language Processing: Communicate with  computers that understand human used natural language.

Expert Systems: There are a few applications which incorporate machine, programming, and some special data to confer thinking and prompting.

Vision Systems: These are able to understand, interpret and grasp visual input on the computer. Ex: A spying plane or drone takes pictures, which are utilized to guide of the zones and areas.

Speech Recognition: They understand the language which is used by humans and talk to them. They can even understand the slang, background noise, accent etc.

They are comprised of sensors which detects few physical data like light, heat, temperature, movement, pressure etc just like humans. They also possess good processors and huge memory. The best part about these systems is that they are adaptable to the environment around them. Benefits of Artificial Intelligence are Increase work efficiency, Error reduction, Work with high Accuracy and Reduction in cost of training and operation but on the other hand there are Artificial Intelligence is also very harmful. It is a threat to humanity as it creates less job opportunities which results poor standard of living and many more.

So, we can say that the rise of AI-powered machines has undoubtedly eased our lives in many applications even today. But there is a need to strongly emphasize on creating ethical codes and policies to ensure that the risks associated with AI are mitigated to the minimum.
