SSC CGL 2019 NOTIFICATION - Start Preparing for Exam

The Staff Selection Commission has recently released new exam dates for SSC CGL Notification. Previously the applications were active from 5th May to 4th June, as SSC has given new dates for Tier I examination it is scheduled from 4th June to 19th June.

SSC CGL RECRUITMENT – ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Assistant Audit Officer (AAO): Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognised University or Institute.
  2. Junior Statistical Officer: Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognised University or Institute with at least 60% marks in Mathematics in 12th standard OR Bachelor’s degree with statistics as one of the subjects in degree level.
  3. All Other Posts: Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University.
  4. Students in final year of graduation can apply but should complete graduation before 1st August.

AGE LIMIT:

  1. The age limit for Statistical Investigator Grade II is max 32 years.
  2. For Assistant in CSS, age limit is 20 – 30 years.
  3. Assistant in IB should be 21 – 30 years.
  4. Assistant Enforcement Officer/SI in CBI/SI in NIA should be of 30 years of age.
  5. The age limit of SI in Central Bureau of Narcotics is 18 - 27 years.

AGE RELAXATION:

For SC/ST category the age relaxation is 5 years, OBC category is 3 years and Physically Handicapped age     relaxation is 10 years.

SSC CGL RECRUITMENT – EXAM PATTERN AND SELECTION PROCEDURE:

SSC CGL Exam Pattern in Detail

SSC CGL TIER I:

  • It is a computer based test of 200 marks to be attempted in 60 minutes. For every incorrect answer 0.50 marks is deducted provided there is no sectional cut-off.
  • It consists of four subjects: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language each subject having 25 questions of total 50 marks.

SSC CGL TIER II:

  • This is also an online based exam consisting of 4 subjects: Quantitative Aptitude (Paper I), English Language & Comprehension (Paper II), and Statistics – Paper III (previous subjects) and General Studies Paper IV (finance & economics, previous subjects).
  • Quantitative Aptitude has 100 questions of 200 marks, English Language & Comprehension has 200 questions of 200 marks, Statistics has 100 questions of 200 marks and General Studies having 100 questions of 200 marks.
  • There is no sectional cut off with negative marking in Paper I, III and IV of 0.5 marks and in Paper II of 0.25 marks.

SSC CGL TIER III:

  • This is a descriptive paper in pen and paper mode of 100 marks of 60 marks duration.

SSC CGL TIER IV:

  • This is a Data Entry Skill Test (DEST)/ Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) which is qualifying in nature where DEST is for Tax Assistant Post only.

The merit list will be prepared on overall performance of student in Tier I, II, III and IV you have to clear all the stages separately.
