How to Scrap a Car in Ontario, Canada - Legitimate Prerequisites and Resources

Stage 2: Parts Reuse

The next stage is when the vehicle dismantled. Each part removed from the vehicle is inspected, tagged, coded, stored, and prepared for resale. Aside from the metals, gas tanks, lead batteries, wheels, and tires may be saved. They are first examined to see if they can be recycled, re-used, or have to be disposed of appropriately. Some of them are sent to a licensed recycling facility where they can be fixed, reconditioned, and rebuilt. As for the tires, they are distributed to tire recyclers to be processed as tire crumbs and to make new products out of them.

Stage 3: Recycling Materials

Approximately 75% of the vehicle's scrap metals can still be reused to make new cars or other products. The remaining portion of the vehicle that cannot be reused and recycled is crushed and shredded into fist-sized pieces.
