Audi LED Lighting Technology – A Brief Study

Posted by Anthony Wessal on July 8th, 2019

Imagine you are driving late at night down a deserted winding road. The darkness looms large over the road ahead. Something emerges from the dense shadows into the lane ahead. You strain your eyes to make out the object. But, no, you can’t make the thing out properly in the utter darkness. So, what next? Invariably a collapse! Or maybe an accident! You ram into it straight away. To your utter dismay, you discover that you ended up crashing an animal or maybe a man, presumably a vagabond.

Don’t panic! That’s where Audi Greensboro NC LED headlight technology comes in. The light illuminating the road ahead calculates the color temperature of daylight, thereby enabling your eyes to perceive more contrast.

Audi Revolutionized Vehicle Lighting:

LED are in the DNA of Audi. The company improved the vehicle lighting with the first full-LED headlamps appearing on the Audi R8. Today, the use of LED technology helps distinctively redefine the look of the iconic Audi. Apart from lending style, LED technology offers many other advantages: low energy consumption and a long operating life, faster reaction time than traditional bulbs, daylight-white brightness, etc.

Designed to Kick Trouble to the Curb:

LED taillight illuminates a vast amount of space, reacting ten times faster than traditional bulbs. That means if the brake lights of the ongoing car catches attention of a trailing driver, that driver’s reaction time can be quickened, potentially resulting in a shorter stopping distance.

Another fast-acting feature, the available high-beam assistant, can decide for itself when it’s sensible to use the high-beam headlights.  It supports the drivers during night by automatically switching the headlights to low beam when necessary, then returning to high beam with the road ahead clears.

The Future is Bright:

With the introduction of LED lighting technology, Audi has been able to save around 25, 000 tons of CO2. That’s not just a load of hot air. Ever since Audi the efficiency of LEDs improved, the vehicle’s alternator is required to replenish less energy, which in turn saves fuel and reduces carbon emissions. Moreover, LED headlight technology is zero maintenance and designed to last the life of the vehicle.

Powerful and Highly Efficient:

The best thing about LED headlights from Audi is that it generates a light that almost looks like daylight with a color temperature of around 5,500 Kelvin. Almost all models now come equipped with LED headlights. Another biggest benefit is that the LEDs are maintenance free.

In some models, LED headlights offer another safety function alongside the optional night vision assistant. No sooner does the night vision detect any pedestrian or object emerging down the twisty road than the individual LEDs flash three times in quick succession. This makes the pedestrian visually stand out against the background, warning both the pedestrian and the driver.

Needless to say, Audi is evolving to the next development stage in terms of automotive lighting technology. Subdivided in tiny pixels, the beam of lights goes on fast and wide in high resolution and with precise control. To keep the headlights in good condition, feel free to bring the car in for Audi service.
