What is the use of Aboveground Pool Pump?

Recently it was a question asked about the obligatory ventilation in the house of machines/pumps of residential projects. Which is the best between Pentair Supermax VS Pump? From this same question emerged others as described below.

Is there a standard that requires ventilation inside the pool pump house?  If so, what is the guiding principle?  How to size this ventilation? It is never seen running a Pentair Variable Speed Pump house that had specified in the project the need for mechanical or natural ventilation. Erroneously, there is a reply that there is no ventilation in the house of pool pumps.

There is yes, a rule that dictates on the subject and gives guidelines for confection and execution of house of machines/ Pentair Whisperflo Pumps of the swimming pool.

Design and execution of swimming pool (house of machines, dressing rooms and bathrooms), where it establishes that? The compartments of the engine room shall have a minimum permanent ventilation area for the exterior, or be provided with an equivalent mechanical ventilation system.

Whenever possible we must design the access to the engine room through a vertical door with shutter ventilation. When access is through a horizontal trapdoor at the floor level of the deck, it should be as ventilated as possible with grilles, wooden deck, perforated aluminium, perforated stone or the most commonly used - plastic grills.

Never make a heavy trapdoor, this brings enormous discomfort. Never make a "fully sealed" cover because the steam formed will destroy, in a short time, the motors, and electrical panel and everything inside the engine room.

The engine room shall have easy access to enable free entry and removal of equipment, be illuminated and ventilated, sufficient space for all equipment, and allow circulation for maintenance and operation.

Floors must be washable, non-absorbent, and have a drainage system. The walls should be treated in order to not absorb moisture. The doors must open to the outside and have their dimensions compatible with those of the equipment. The right foot should fit the equipment.

When built below ground level, Pentair Aboveground Pool Pump, the engine room shall be waterproofed and protected from flooding. It must have a well or catch box, below the level of the floor that allows the suction of the accumulated water. Chemicals shall be in a separate compartment. Electrical installations and their grounding shall be dimensioned in accordance only.
