Do you have health insurance? And what about the vehicle liability insurance. Yes, there is a vehicle liability insurance too for providing you support in case of any car accident. But, this insurance coverage is a little different. In case you are involved in any vehicle accident, and you found guilt for it, then the insurance will make up for the other driver’s damage. For example, you are driving back to your home and three blocks away from your home. Just at the last signal, you bumped into someone's car and the next thing you remember that the other driver’s car is damaged from the front. In that case, if you live in a no-fault state, then your insurance company will sit with the other driver’ company to figure out who was responsible for the accident. If you found guilty, then your insurance company will cover the cost of other driver’s damaged car up to your coverage limit.

What does the insurance cover?

While going for vehicle liability insurance, you get two types of auto coverage to choose from
1. Bodily damage liability insurance- In this type of coverage, you will be getting medical expenses for the injured party involved in an accident, you were found guilty.  The insurance company will also have to cover the wages lost if the injured party decides to file any lawsuit.

2. Property damage liability insurance- This will cover the damage done to the other driver's vehicle done during the accident in which you were at fault. Along with vehicle damage and repair cost, the company will also cover the property damaged like light poles, fence, or any structure caused due to the accident.

Do you need the vehicle liability insurance?

You need to have some coverage under this type of insurance, and in some of the states, it is necessary. The coverage amount and type varies from state to state, but as per the law, all the states require you to have property damage liability (PD) and bodily injury (BI) protection. Besides, it seems reasonable because you do not know about the streets you can unintentionally make mistakes while driving. If you want, you can also opt for a larger amount of coverage than required by the minimum coverage required by the state law.

But, it is advised to consider at least the property damage coverage in order to have a backup in any kind of emergency.
