5 Questions to ask Prospective Paving Companies

If you are in the process of planning some kind of significant paving project for a commercial or residential area, then you are obviously going to need to do your homework in terms of finding the perfect paving company for the job. This is a lot easier said than done, which is why we’re very fortunate to have partnered with a Paving company Fredricksburg VA to help us compile this list of 5 questions you should ask during the interviewing process.

So here are the 5 questions you should consider when trying to find a concrete paving company:

  1. Do you have references?

This is the first question on our list for a reason, so you should always consider the size of your project and then verify if this company seems up to your tasks by looking at their past projects and clients and seeing if they seem like they can handle the appropriate workload you’ll be requiring. There’s no doubt about it that you’ll ultimately want to hire a company that’s been in the industry for a very long time and has seen a thing or two, and by asking for references you’ll be able to follow up with them and figure out what it’s like to work with the paving company in a more objective fashion.

  1. Do you do commercial projects?

A lot of the best paving companies are going to be able to do both residential and commercial projects, but it’s important to make this type of distinction early in the interviewing process. This means you are going to need to look into the overall size of the company’s staff, because when it comes down to it they aren’t going to be able to handle a major project if they don’t have the man power.

  1. Can you meet my specific requirements?

This question is of course going to have specific stipulations attached to it that only you can add, but it’s important to be as direct as possible with what your requirements are up front so you can get a good grasp as to whether or not they’ll be able to handle this type of project, or not. This also means verifying what type of concrete you are going to need and whether or not they can supply this quality in resources and finished product, within the time parameters you require.

  1. How will you ensure the proper completion of the project?

This is always a good question to ask because you are going to be more than likely working with this company for a pretty long time, so you’ll want to know they are prepared for each step of the process and any hiccups that are inevitably going to happen. You’ll also want to talk about the safety regulations and insurance policies they have under their umbrella policies and what they plan to do about subcontracting certain tasks, etc.

When it comes down to it, this is a crucial question to judge whether or not you’ve got the right team for the job or not, and you’ll know when someone’s experience shines during this type of answer…

  1. Do you handle repairs?

Any good paving company will 100% stand by their work with warranties and other types of securities for their clients, so you’ll want to get the details of their warranty information and compare it to your other prospective candidates. Maintenance is a big part of paving jobs, so you’ll want to ensure that the company you hire has a good maintenance and patch up system so you’ll better know the work they complete for you is protected for the long term!
