Shortly after the launch of the new betrayal expansion, Grinding Gear Games outlined the immediate and distant future of the RPG Path of Exile.

Path of Exile will receive four significant updates in 2019, all of which will follow GGG's familiar content promotion, including challenging leagues, new features, new Buy Path of Exile Currency rules, maintaining combat excellence and essential new course skills. As well as necessary fixes and QoL improvements. Although the update itself  not specify in detail, the timeline was confirmed:

V3.6.0 - March 2019
V3.7.0 - June 2019
V3.8.0 - September 2019
V3.9.0 - December 2019

Developers also desire to release another super expansion in 2020, and that is comparable to the massive drop in content like Betrayal and Fall of Oriath. However, GGG cautioned how the release date has not yet determined.

"In the 2019 update, we also hope to make significant progress on the 4.0.0 large expansion, which may come sometime in 2020. Developing 4.0.0 is a daunting task and continues to be released by us. The impact of the desire to conduct a large-scale league at our usual rate, so we took the time before we decided to release the date and made sure it was ready."

Due to the careful participation of GGG and the successful POE Currency strategy, the Path of Exile is still active. As the game continues to move towards the F2P industry, we should see a lot of new content coming out. The success of this game has attracted the attention of Chinese giant Tencent. Tencent acquired a majority stake in Grinding Gear Games to ensure the longevity of the game.

It expected that ARPG would reach Sony's 80 million-strong PS4 user base when it is released on the platform next month.
