5 things to do in Manali for Family Vacation

Manali, the same name leaves a romantic impression in the mind of every Indian traveller. A domestic honeymoon getaway that has impressed travellers for years, Manali exudes a relaxed atmosphere and exhibits enough natural elements to capture the attention of any retreat seeker. The landscape enriched with greenery, snow-capped mountains, scenic spots and various adventure destinations makes Manali a favourite with travellers. In addition, the availability of all the key facilities needed to improve the comfort level of travellers makes Manali suitable for family vacations. Therefore, if you are looking to spend your long-awaited vacation in one of the quintessential mountain resorts of India, Manali should be your first choice. Here is a list of things to do in Manali, to tell you about everything you should enjoy in a family outing to Manali.

Explore the Buddhist monasteries

The relationship between the Indian Himalayas and the Buddhist monasteries is in fact very intense and I prefer to explore the variety of monasteries present in their designs. In Himachal, there are some surprisingly beautiful monasteries such as Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa and Himalayan Nyingamapa Gompa that attract travellers from all over the world. If you simply want to spend the afternoon participating in some of the tourist activities in Manali, I believe that these monasteries should be your choice.

Pay your tribute at Hadimba Temple

Although the Mahabharata describes Hirimba as a demon, the people of Himachal consider her a goddess and worship her. And this is the most amazing fact that attracts most of the foreigners to this temple. This wooden temple is located in a serene environment surrounded by lush gardens of cedars. The details on the wooden doors and walls are striking and add to the simple and peaceful atmosphere of this temple.

Zorbing in the Solang Valley

Manali is a tourist destination for all seasons unlike some of the top Himalayan tourist spots. While winter is the ideal time to play with snow in Manali, summer turns out to be the ideal opportunity to take refuge in its temperate climate. So, in case you go to Manali in summer, try Zorbing in the Solang Valley. Believe me, there is nothing better than getting caught in a big ball and rolling through the hills without having even the slightest idea where the ball is going. The amount of emotion, joy, laughter and scream that you can enjoy during this time is obviously unparalleled.

Paragliding in Solang Nullah

Perhaps the next possible adventure activity that every courageous and fun-loving family would love to do is paragliding. And there can not be a better place for paragliding in Manali than Solang Nala. Therefore, I suggest you plan accordingly so that you can enjoy both Zorbing and Paragliding in the same place.

Visit the temples in Jagatsukh

If you are in Himachal and you have not seen their temples, I can tell you that you have missed something really charming. As you will be in Manali with your family, I suggest you make at least one instant trip to Jagatsukh, which is about 6 km south of Manali. The calm and composed atmosphere and the panoramic view add to the beauty of this temple. The main attraction of this town is the Shiva Temple, which is believed to have been built around the 8th century. The buses that go from Manali to Jagatsukh take between 20 and 30 minutes to get to this temple. However, if you have time, try visiting the Gaurishankar Temple which is located in Dashal Village.
