Certificate attestation is a legal requirement for the foreign-originated documents that are going to be used in the UAE. As the number of Indian expats has been increased steadily in Dubai in the last few years, the number of document attestation service providers has also been increased. The procedure for Indian certificate attestation from Dubai is not much complicated.

Let’s discuss this procedure in detail:

  1. Notary Attestation

Indian document attestation procedure for Dubai initiates with a notary public. A notary public is a government official appointed by the State government, who can administer affirmations, witness signatures, and authenticate public documents. The Notary Public validates a document by place his signature and official seal on the document and provide evidentiary value to the certificate. Lack of notary stamp on a certificate results in the incomplete Home Department, Chamber of Commerce, and HRD attestation procedure.

  1. State Authentication

Thereupon, the educational, personal, and commercial documents require attestation by the Human Resource Development (HRD), State Home Department, and the Chamber of Commerce respectively at the state level. These state departments examines the authenticity of the presented documents and thereafter authenticated them with an official stamp.

  1. MEA Attestation

Thirdly, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) attest an Indian document. All Indian documents require MEA attestation in order to acquire legality overseas. The MEA does not levy any fee for attesting the documents. Also, the MEA does not take documents directly from the applicants and they are required to be submitted and collected through an outsourced agency. The fee charged by these agencies for attestation is also fixed by the MEA and varies as per the document type.

  1. UAE Embassy Attestation

Thereupon, the documents are required to be attested by the UAE Embassy in Delhi. The embassy will only attest the documents if they are pre-attested by the required authorities. The Embassy attestation is obligatory for the acceptance of documents easily in that particular country.

  1. MOFA Attestation

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) is the ultimate agency that attest the foreign documents in the UAE. The MOFA only attest a document if it has been attested by the UAE Embassy. After MOFA attestation, all foreign documents are accepted easily in the Dubai and all other Emirates.
