What it comes to selling a home, you want to make sure you get top dollar for it. There are a few easy ways to prep your home for sale without doing a major renovation. And the easiest way to do this is by painting your rooms.

Paint is a great way to personalize your home and make it your own. However, when it comes to selling, you want your home to appeal to as many buyers as possible. Unfortunately, not everyone will love the teal paint color you chose as much as you do. That's why it's a smart idea to change the wall colors when you decide to sell.

So what are the best paint colors to sell a home?

Neutrals, 100%. Why are neutrals the best colors to use? Because they allow the home buyer to easily envision their belongings in the home without any distraction. Neutral paint colors will go with any decor style. Buyers will also see the home as move-in ready.

Now that we know neutral paint colors are the way to go, let's be more specific.

Grays

  • Gray is the optimal paint color to use when selling your home. Any decor style will work well with gray. From a modern style to a farmhouse decor style, gray walls will provide a beautiful backdrop. Look for gray paint colors with more of a neutral undertone such as Repose Gray by Sherwin Williams. or Mindful Gray by Sherwin Williams.

Beige

  • Beige is another amazing paint color option to use when selling your home. Beige is a little warmer than gray so It may not work with more of a modern decor style However overall its a great neutral that will appeal to many people. Try using a light beige like Accessible Beige by Sherwin Williams.

Off- White

  • If you really want to create a space that will draw buyers in, try using an off-white paint color. This color will not only appeal to buyers but it will also make your rooms feel bigger and more open. And of course, that's what buyers want to see. A beautiful off-white color option is White Dove by Benjamin Moore.

If at some point you do find yourself at the point you need to sell your home, repainting your walls in a neutral paint color is the best way to go. Not only will you appeal to more buyers, but hopefully it will get your home sold faster and for more money.
