Remove Wax from Carpet With Simple Guides

Candle Wax can be difficult to remove from carpets, upholstery, and other fabrics that are used in homes. This is because wax dries, and trying to pull it can damage the fabric. This, however, does not mean that it is not feasible to remove candle wax stains from such surfaces.

There is a simple trick that works effectively for this. We do need to warm the candle wax so that it melts once again. Our object is to capture the molten wax on some other object, or material, for example some paper towels. To melt the wax we can use the iron. See this in action below.

Therefore, keeping the paper towel in between the candle wax stain and iron would help to remove most of that objectionable wax. Care should be taken to ensure that the temperature does not harm the carpet or upholstery. It is also essential to use only white colored paper towels, as other colors may leave stains on the carpet.

The other and more frequently used method and guide cleaning wax off valuable carpet is to freeze the wax some more and scrape it as gently as possible. There are special fluids available in the market that can be used during such process. These include K2r Spot lifter, and Afta cleaning solution.

After removing most of the wax stain, take a little alcohol and dilute it. Dip a blotting paper and gently wipe the spot clean. This is to remove dye, if any. Do not use too much of alcohol, and solutions, as they may remove the dye of your carpet or upholstery along with candle wax.

Also check whether you can really use any water or solutions on the carpet’s dyes or upholstery’s dyes because some of these carpets have fibers that are non-washable.

Freezing and scraping method is also good for removing candle wax that has solidified on tiles. However, in such cases, after scraping, using water and detergent is ideal instead of using alcohol, or other solutions. Alternately, some washing soda solution may be used to remove wax stains from such surfaces.

If you don’t have time to do the job yourself you can seek help from professional carpet cleaning company such as Spotless Carpet Cleaning Adelaide to successfully get rid of stubborn stain of candle wax and other severe stains from your beautiful and valuable carpeting.
