What are the healthier post-breakup comfort foods to munch on?

Has your “Mr Right” turned into a sworn enemy? Heartbreak sucks, though some are affected by a breakup more than others, still, it sucks! Very few amongst us have made it to adulthood without experiencing the agony feeling of the breakup. Usually, there are standard stages everyone goes through post-breakup. First, you get into a denial mode, that this can’t happen to us, or we just need a break. Then strikes anger, and you take out that on alcohol but finally comes acceptance.

Though everyone reacts to it differently like some channelize their frustration in their work, others chose to "revenge celebrate" it, and some opt to curl up like a ball in bed and cry for days and weeks. No way is wrong when dealing with a broken heart; you just have to do what is right for you. Food, no doubt, plays a massive part in it because food really provides comfort in such situations. So what foods are people rely on in this situation? When choosing comfort foods, opting for something healthier would be a smart decision.

So, here are some that will take up that empty space post-breakup and will always be kind to you.

Chocolate

The most comforting food in any situation has to be chocolate. But do you know the reason behind it? Chocolates contain a compound that has proved to stimulate the endorphins that boost the mood. I didn't say that, but science did. But since I promised you to some healthy options, you should look for dark chocolate that contains more of cocoa and less of sugar and milk. Now, you have all the reasons to gulp on some dark chocolate cake. The best part of the cake? You can even get midnight delivery when at night all the memories and flashbacks rush in, and we start torturing ourselves to depression.

Red wine

Alcohol comes handy in such situations. You must be already doing it, but now all you need to do is replace those tequila shots with a something healthier that is red wine. Right now, you must be feeling tequila as the better option, but red wine actually has benefits for you, as it is filled with a compound known as resveratrol, that reduces the risks of heart disease (because its the heart that suffered). Oh, and yes it's good for the skin too. Show that extra glow to make him or her jealous.

Ice cream

I don't think there is any other food so obvious in break up than ice cream.  Not to sound stereotype or anything but ice cream is most favoured comfort food around the world. Consider it synonyms with a breakup. Even in movies, we have seen the heartbroken one capturing the couch and a huge bucket of ice cream and a box of tissues. Now you can grab that pint of ice cream that you have been eyeing on since breakup.

Popcorns

Those air-popped popcorns can be healthier than fruits and vegetable. No kidding, but popcorns contain polyphenols compounds that cure inflammation and provides antioxidant, and the same compound is diluted in fruits and vegetables. Also, popcorn happens to be a snack that is hundred per cent whole grain( unprocessed). This air-light stuff can make your heart feel light.

Its that one snack you can munch on any time of the day. Prepare a bowl for yourself, and it will give you a rest from stalking your ex on social media.

Cookies

Next in the list is cookies. You know the smell of freshly baked cookies can be really comforting for your broken heart. I understand that your hand always run for fried stuff, but you know that's a temporary relief and even show its bad effects in coming days. But chocolate chip cookies will never do that with you.

 Cauliflowers crust pizza

When you're going to eat the entire pizza, why not get some benefits out of it? Yes, I'm asking you to swap that regular crust with a cauliflower crust. Even pizzas can be made healthy as te regular bread might not be as healthy as this cauliflower one. Go ahead and get that gooey comfort feeling without stuffing your body with bread. Get some veggies toppings too for some extra benefits.

I know that heartbreak was not under your control, but what goes in your body is totally under your control. Take your frustration out on your body, no not by torturing yourself, but by working on yourself and getting in shape so that. Eat healthily, stay healthy so that you live longer and get enough time to plan your revenge against your ex.

Also, remember I told you about the midnight cake delivery? You can order it through winni.

A breakup can be harsh, but that doesn't mean you have to be harsh on yourself too. Here are some healthier food options for you to munch on post-breakup.
