How to use Bible Gateway App

Posted by Chellbee on July 24th, 2019

Before I started reading the bible on my own, I didn't really know anything about bible study.

When I was a teenager my mom gifted me a KJV bible. I still have it to this day. But I have never been able to really sit down and read it.

I just had a hard time understanding the context of what I was reading due to all the thou, art, and thee. So I purchase an ESV Bible because after quitting my job I needed some Jesus.

I didn't find much time to bible study while staying on a friends sofa. Two years later when I found myself in a similar precedent.

Something had to give. I started reading my bible everyday. Hoping that the word would be unlocked and my broken heart mended.

Reading was easier then it was before. But there are still times when I need clarity. This is when I open my Bible Gateway app.

The bible gateway app has over 150 English bible translations - best of all its free. Using the Bible Gateway is pretty simple you will need to:

1. Open the bible app - once you have downloaded it from the app store onto your phone.
2. Sign in or remain a guest. You will need to sign in if you want to save any highlighted text.
3. Click on the left menu tab.
4. Click first tab - bible.
5. Scroll to the scripture of choice.
6. Click on tab top right to select the translation of your choice.

The bible Gateway app is a great way to dig deeper during your bible study routine. Reading scripture in various translations helps you to understand and dissect the meaning of what you have read.

I hope this article helps you to make the most out of your phone during bible study. Hopefully you will be inspired to start your bible study routine sooner rather than later.
